What phone did he get? I have the CPT8000 (two of them in fact) for our 2002 X5 4.4i. I also use Verizon and I can tell you that you can use it out of state. I've been up and down the east coast (CT to Key West) with it. I've been as far west as CO/UT. I haven't had any problems getting service if there was service available in the area. What $2000 phone are they trying to sell?
