If your phone is a black phone it is the single band, dual mode phone. If it is silver it is the dual band, tri-mode phone that is compatible with the service plans that include long distance free, no roaming, etc.

X5ers,

My Dad ordered his X5 with the built in phone. He now says he can't use it out of state, and they want $2000+ for the new tri-mode phone.

A quick search of the archives seems to indicate that he is stuck paying the $$$$ or not using the phone out of state. I think he is using the Verizon service btw.

Any ideas, input, clarification?

Thanks,

Doug
