Terry,

thought I posted this reply already....guess not. At any rate, yes, it is in the glove box (upper). I would appreciate any light you could shed on the wiring situation. Sounds like for the steerng wheel it is just a matter of finding the right wiring bundle. I'm going to start tearing in as soon as my Parrot arrives (should be by early next week).

is there a fuse box inside the glove box just like in the RHD model? I would expect there to be, else where else would BMW put it? The fuse box is way up in the roof of the glove box, a couple of clips keep a black plastic door closed. Once this is opened you can see the fuses and a sticker on the inside of the lid tells you which fuse is which.

If the LHD X5 has the same fuse box, I can tell you how to remove it and which wires to splice into for the power connections. Once the glove box and kick panel are removed you will see a white plastic bracket assembly mounted on the engine bulkhead, it measures about 12" x 10" and is about 3" deep and is behind and below the fuse box. It seems to be used to hold additional/optional electrical modules (I know this because the PDC problem has gone away - I left a connector off of one of the plug-in modules in this bracket!) Anyway, there are some empty spaces in this bracket and the CK3000 box fits into one of them very neatly.

Terry
