I have to say of all the color's offered for the X, this blue looks the best mono-painted, they did an outstanding job.

Now, I personally hate the chrome trim around the windows, was this a non-sport X5? If so it leads me down a path of questions.

i have been in your place far too many times to count, modifying a car/truck that I am not sure i want to keep, in your place a bit worse as you are leasing it.

Your choices become limited, you know even if you strip your mods and sell on Ebay/MB you will never recover your investment, that is why most people lease more expensive models than they can afford to buy, less to modify as well.

My advise is to keep your mods now in the very simle mode, no engine work, rims and tires are fine as long as you get something that has a residual factor/life span of 3-4 years of appeal...easier to sell. I.E. ACS rims..more up front but some guy picking up a 2001 X5 in 2004 will want them...think future.

Your chrome is an eyesore IMHO .....but do not paint...it will chip, either have it powder coated black..probably 200 or but BMW Black OEM parts and sell those on Ebay or to a body shop etc.

I was trying to imagine you X, lowered, 20's. a blue grill/black grill....black trim and believe it or not Black ACS type III rims...would look very ACS show car.

Keep it simple, keep it high-end, if you cannot afford the best rims...wait, do not settle for second on your list...it will hurt you down the line. been there.

My 2cents
jon
