BJ's Bike Rack

Notes:

• Rack will carry 2 bikes of any configuration, including tandems
• No contact between bikes or with car, no wheels flopping around, and no clamps around frame paint
• This is the prototype, production units will be black powder coated.
• Prototype is welded to receiver specifically for Da Lan Z3 hitch. Production units will bolt to any 1-1/4" receiver just like a trailer ball.
• Unit uses any of the Yakima bike mounts, including the tandem mount. The support beams can be repositioned to different positions for best fit.
• While not shown, with the tandem I use a small strap from the top frame tube to the front of the trunk lip to provide a buffer against aggressive acceleration.
• All components are lockable and easily removed for storage.
• The rack will carry "Y" frame and ladies frame bikes with equal ease, by using Yakima's "Ankle Biter" (TM) mount.
