I know that the enclosure uses 2 4" drivers with reversed polarity for push/pull action. To get substantial bass resoponse you'd need a true bass sub driver smallest is 8"

The stock drivers seem to be identicle to the ones in the kickpanels. Working together (push/pull) Douglas pointed out that the two drivers would function like a single 7" driver (think he used some math to back that up).

Is a/d/s/ going to squize one of those in there??

Their first attempt will be to simply replace the existing drivers and reuse the existing enclosure. I wonder how successful this will be but its simple enough to try so why not. If they can not get an acceptable amount of improvement from this then they will look at designing a different enclosure.

I think they are doing things the right way. If they can get a noticable improvment out of just replacing the drivers then its going to save us all some time and money.

Do you know the pinout for the //MZ amp?

No (I replaced the amp), but it is a standard HK setup and I remember someone posting that before (search the archives).

I really respect what a/d/s/ is doing for the Z3 community (they even attended the homecoming) and have a lot of confidence that they will take their time and do it right.
