Mercedes and BMWs are about as common there as Fords and Chevys are here; so most of the major rental places will have them. Just ask in advance. Rentals in Germany seemed to be a bit more (50% or so) than rentals here in the states...my wife and I used a consolidator when we went over back in March-I don't have the info in front of me, but if you're interested, drop me email and I'll send you their number. We ended up getting a BMW 520; and I seem to recall that it was about $400 for the week.

Gas was pricey. I remember filling up not far from the Swiss border, and I calculated that the tankful ran about $45...

: I'm planning a trip to the contintent this fall and am looking for a source to rent a BMW for a week or two. Anyone have any experience? Secondly, can our German friends give me a clue as to what your currently paying for gas over there?
: Thanks.
