New owner - great fun. (archive)

4 weeks ago, Sachi (my wife) and I went to look at MB SLK's, to see if they're as attractive up close as they can be from a distance. To make a long story short, the SLK's we looked at didn't send us over the moon.

So, we wandered next door...to the Porsche dealer.

The Porsche dealer had no new Boxsters (and we didn't like the way that the salesman oiled over to us).

So, we wandered next door...to the BMW dealer.

The salesman was appropriately low-key, the Z3 2.8 was a very nice drive, and to make an even longer story short, we brought one home.

Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

Our price of entry into this amiable and enlightened group (that'd be you-all) is a '98 Z3 2.8. White outside, Black/Red inside (but only the trim on the seats and upper door panels are red), black top. Sport seats, round-spoke style accessory wheels, wood trim (not sure about the wood, but we'll see), etc.

I've been averaging about 500 miles per week by spending almost every waking hour behind the wheel.

Now that all that's behind us, WELCOME ME!! ( :-) )
