: 4 weeks ago, Sachi (my wife) and I went to look at MB SLK's, to see if they're as attractive up close as they can be from a distance. To make a long story short, the SLK's we looked at didn't send us over the moon.

: The Porsche dealer had no new Boxsters (and we didn't like the way that the salesman oiled over to us).

: The salesman was appropriately low-key, the Z3 2.8 was a very nice drive, and to make an even longer story short, we brought one home.

: Our price of entry into this amiable and enlightened group (that'd be you-all) is a '98 Z3 2.8. White outside, Black/Red inside (but only the trim on the seats and upper door panels are red), black top. Sport seats, round-spoke style accessory wheels, wood trim (not sure about the wood, but we'll see), etc.
: I've been averaging about 500 miles per week by spending almost every waking hour behind the wheel.
