: Just want to vent a litte... I leave for work about 6:30 each morning to enjoy a leisurely drive thru the countryside for about 15 miles into the small town (Meridian, MS) where my office is. I usually reflect on the day, what I need to get accomplished, listen to some good music or maybe NPR (Nat'l Public Radio) news if I havn't caught it before I leave the house. The top is always down and the road is curvy, but this drive is always unhurried, just enjoying the feel of the road and the early morning, you get the picture.

: Well this morning, just out of the driveway, a small white pickup joins me (and I almost mean this literally although I don't think the Z3 was meant to be a locomotive). There are numerous places to pass, and I am only driving about 45, but he seems to be enjoying riding on my bumper, which begins to distract from my enjoyment. Well, after a couple of miles of both of us enjoying each bump in the road in sync, I decide to just pull off and let him go by so I can get back to looking at the trees and flowers in my rear view mirror instead of his NISSAN emblem. No problem he goes along his merry way and I resume, sigh and commence with my Z3 enjoyment. Several curves later and low and behold there are about four trucks behind me. Please keep in mind that no one has been rude really, have not revved their engines or been obnoxious, but just seem to want to be in my space and ride along with me... So I pull over again and they proceed on their way, though not as happy I'm sure.

: I pull back out, resume my drive and am enjoying the sights and sounds, when "whap" get hit with a bug. Geeze, I think, now I'm being shot at. I look down and crawling up my shirt is a very nasty looking yellow jacket. He is dazed, albeit but still, I'm not that crazy about "toolin" along with him still breathing. There is no place to pull out for what seems like an eternity with both of us staring at each other, his eyes were a bit crossed still. I look up just long enough to keep it "between the ditches". Just as I reach a small dirt road, I pull out, jump out and knock him to the ground just before his senses came back to him. Other than a small deposit of something which I care not to know about on my shirt, I seem no worse for wear. Heartbeat begins to slow down and I say my thanks for not driving "Ethel" off into a ditch.
: With some reluctance, I resume my drive and do make it to the office, but don't think it was my favorite drive to date. Actually it's the first bad experience I have had in my Z3. Just wanted to share... wish me luck... I'm going to try it again tomorrow morning... hopefully without the Nissan, the caravan and the yellow jacket... maybe I'll wear camaflouge (sp)... Hope you all had better drives.
