BMW's attitude to European Z3s reminds me of the Sir John Harvey Jones 'Troubleshooter' TV programme on Morgan Cars. His comment was that Morgan's Sales Dept hadn't (sold) for years--it should be renamed the Rationing Dept.

A long wait for European builds helps keep prices higher in Europe. Delivery from US to Germany depends on whether the build is coordinated with the next ship.

As for the Germany to UK bit, I am seriously thinking of going to collect it. I did this when I imported a car about ten years ago. The fun bit is when you come into customs and they say "Do you have anything to declare, Sir?"

I declared the car but forgot to mention all the German wine in the boot--and at that time your car could be confiscated if used for smuggling!

The dealer your car is coming from is based in Dusseldorf. Could be a nice drive back?

Tim

which is I am planning to collect mine from Germany.

: I have ordered my Z3 2.8 from Germany and told it will be built in April 1999 (I know, its a loooong wait !)

: I assume this car is actually built in the US, sent to Germany and then delivered to the UK to me.

: Anyone any idea how long this will take from the start to it actually arriving on my doorstep ?

: How long does it take to build a Z3 ?

: Thanks
