At last year's Reunion the comment was made that 2.8s should be allowed at the head of the line on the tour so they wouldn't be held up by the lowly 1.9s. I dutifully got behind one of the 2.8s to savor its flanks, swollen almost to the extent of its driver's head.

It certainly could pull away from me in the straights, but come the first (of many) curves, I could have an up close and personal view of its lovely ersatz twin pipe exhaust at will. At the first stop I made the comment "The 2.8 is the Corvette of the Z3s -- fast in a straight line but slow in the curves."

Those two extra cylinders are out front of the wheels where the 1.9 is almost a front mid-engine. Check out Road & Track where the 1.9 chalked up a 0.91g on the skidpad compared to the 2.8s 0.87 (same as my Audi A4!). If you don't brag about it, almost no one catches the Schnitzer suspension or vented/cross-drilled front rotors. Just wait until I get the supercharger!
