...is the best hauling-ass tune of all time, but it's on Moving Pictures, not 2112.

: Easing into the seat I depress the clutch, cross my fingers, and turn the key. Dash lights, a good sign, going for broke I turn the key further. The starter engages, the engine fires and dies. Again, turning the key and literally willing the car to start the engine fires and idles with a fair amount of chop. 10secs pass, 20secs, the idle begins to hunt up then down, then about 10 seconds later smooths to an even purr. Operation successful.

: [During transport to Seattle I had removed my car's brain and sent it out for reprogramming via the Jim C program removing all limits and adding some HP]

: Weather: Sunny, 68 degrees, cool breeze. Time to lower the top. Almost forgetting that my foot must be on the brake I lower the top on the car for the first time in several weeks. At this point the car is begging to be ridden as the temp gauge climbs into the operating zone. Angela slides into the seat next to me donning her shades and murmurs "Let's go..."

: Music Selection : 2112
: And the meek shall inherit the earth, but not the car to drive on it, that's reserved for BMW ///M Roadster owners. Easing out onto the streets of Redmond I am dismayed at the amount of traffic on 148th Ave NE during the lunch "Rush" hour. We blend in with the rest of traffic, sun in our faces and proceed to head northeast into the hills...

: What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it gives forth a sound... There is nothing like the sound of the ///M Roadster, a low, resonant grumble that serves only to entice the imagination with what lies beyond. We enter the 520 heading east and the car is up to 85 in an instant, response is definitely quicker and smoother than before, even the shifting seems improved. I throttle back to cruise mode as we head to points east...

: Yes we know, it's nothing new, it's just a waste of time, we have no need for ancient ways, our world is doing fine...
: We are lost in our own little world now, top down, wind rushing through our hair, the ///M singing its own song on the open road. Through Avondale and beyond we travel choosing our way at the Woodinville-Duvall road we head east through the hills towards Carnation valley and Duvall. The forest grows dense...

: There is unrest in the forest, trouble with the trees, the maples want more sunlight but the oaks ignore their pleas... The mighty trees of the pacific northwest rise up on either side of this single lane road obscuring the sun. Light filters through to illuminate the turns ahead as a few leaves make their way from the canopy above to the road below...

: The road ahead greets us with turn after turn which only serves to make the ///M a hungry beast, begging to be ridden to its full potential... cold leather, hot metal and oil, the sun the country air, sunlight on chrome, the blur of the landscape, every nerve aware.... we break into a clearing and before us sprawls the carnation valley and snoqualamie river, a nice flat straight stretch of road calling out to the ///M...

: I spin around with shreaking tires, to run the deadly race... as I throttle up the ///M I check for traffic and law enforcement. none. 100 passes by in a blink of an eye, 120, 135, 147, approaching the end of the straight-away...
: 151, removing foot from floorboard.... the adrenaline, the "Rush", nothing else like it...

: I race back to the farm, to dream with my uncle by the fireside.... We pull into the sleepy little town of Duvall and look for a place to have lunch. There's no place like home....

: The BMW ///M Roadster - $42,770
: The feeling behind the wheel - Priceless...
