I know you said this was your opinion, but keep in mind in the 30s and 40s it was Mercedes and Auto Union (which later became Audi when it merged with
other companies...maybe Horch? among them)which were building the ridiculously fast race cars with 12 and 16 cylinder engines. Where was BMW then?
As much as I love them, I think MB has a better heritage.
