That the swirl remover step can be eliminated if you avoid swirls in the first place (read Carter's washing article on The polish step provides a much more agressive cleaning than the paint usually needs.

I agree with the Baba that clay followed by a good carnuba wax is the best way to go. The clay will do the job of a really fine polish in a fraction of the time. I've been very satisfied with the Griot's products and their customer service can't be beat!
