From what I have seen, the OBC uses a LCD display. If this is correct, than there is a definite correlation between temp. and the ability of the LCD to change what it is displaying. The delay, being not in the electronics, is in the LCD display itself.

: Being in New England for the last few months has been at times entertaining, especially my drive up the Mt. Washington goat path. However, I have recently noticed that on the less than 50 degree mornings, my OBC has been slow to respond to mode changes. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if so, is this considered "normal" or is it time to have the OBC rewired.
