My understanding is that the Z3 was a hand-built prototype and BMW wasn't too keen on a chase; hwever I did note a nice power slide.

: The blue is Atlanta Blue. Nieman Marcus sucked all of the Z3 in that color up. R&T's first road test car was Atlanta blue as well and it was the color used in all the initial advertising. After receiving a preponderance of orders for the Atlanta Blue, BMW discontinued it for the '96 model year. I did notice that the NM cars, advertised as replicas of the "Bond car" have the chrome package, but the car in the film had plain Jane black trim.

: By the way, that car is in the Zentrum, if you haven't been to the reunions. Looks like a pretty stock Euro spec Z3.

Long Long Time Ago.....

someone posted a link to a page that documeted the real Z3 used in the stunt scenes. This was almost 2 years ago so my memory is foggy but I seem to recall it was a V8 400+ horse power Z3 that was custom built just for the stunt work. Wonder where that car is now. (The Z3 in the zentrum is the "pretty" car they used in the film, not the stunt car).
