Well baby is now in the shop ( sniff, sniff )
It's was a wonderful run up to that point.
It had been raining a fine mist all morning, not to the point we needed to put the top up, but to the point to make the roads very wet, after lunch the sun came out and the road seemed dry.
We headed out of Sutter Creek on a little road called Gopher Flats Rd, I was behind Carol, came around a bend and there was three little turns. Hit a wet oily patch, the butt slid to the left, pointing the nose to the right over the wonderful 40 foot drop, pulled back to the left, I guess that I over corrected and turned it around and hit the rocks on the other side.
Maybe I should have taken into account that it was the first rain in several months, causing it to be very slick, but by this time the road for the most part was dry.
Guess what bothers me is that are speed was not that high, and I over corrected to that degree,
Leon had said that some may be due to the tires being less than a week old, I would like others input on that.
Should find out a little later today from the shop just how big a lesson I got here.
From the looks of it
Front bumper, front cowl, hood, fog light, headlight, rear tire, front tire all history
Ripped the tie rod, and the back bumper got smacked, but looks fixable.
I was wondering also, with the suspension needing now to be reworked, would it make sense at this point to upgrade it, and if so what, and the cost ?
( a little bummed but all in all ok, wishing that road was about 2 foot wider )
