I am not talking about painting any of the face (pad contact) surfaces, but the edge and "hat" in the center where the whhel mounts. In fact, being black, this should help heat dissipation as balck is a more effective color for radiation. I am sure that a trhin coating of paint will be less detrimental than the rust which usually develops on the edges of a rotor.
