receiving Greg's order form from all the way down under. Yes my ///M is silver as well but I know it will looook aaawwwsoome ///M Stoned by Keith,Chipped by Dinan, soon to be Nosed by Greg i>: Today felt like a good day. When the mail came this morning at the office, I knew the feeling was real when I noticed a nice little square box from Australia along with my usual bills and crap.

: Sure enough, I opened the lid and did my 'boy who couldn't wait for Christmas' dance and there they were - my new grill pieces, all shiny and polished.

: Having installed it this afternoon, I thought I would post my thoughts, since there was a thread on the board about it last week.

: First, the one problem with it:

: There's a 2 cm (4/5 of an inch) scratch in the chromed part. The black is exposed. omygod! whew... it's near the back. It looks as though the chroming didn't take as well in this one little area and something rubbed it wrong. Probably the work of our damn Canadian postal workers. None of them have learned to kill yet, so they take out their problems on our packages.

: Although the package looked adequately packed, I would suggest a little styro or foam between the parts. The outside was kind of dented up from being chucked around. This is why I blame the postal workers.

: Actually, I pretty much blame postal workers and the government for everything that goes wrong. I like It. It keeps me consistent. Besides - they're used to everyone being pissed at them all the time. :)

: Other than the nick that no one can see, anyway - they look great!

: The good side:

: I am not a mechanical genius. You're reading a note from a guy who's one step up from a chimp here - albeit, a relatively hairless one. I do have opposable thumbs, but they are small - mere stumps really.

: I, with all my challenges, was able to pull the old grill parts out and install the new ones in less than two minutes.

: It could've probably been one minute, but I took a second to compare the 'old' black grill and rim with the chromed version.

: The old one felt cheap, as though it fell off a Chrysler (I can say that - I've been picking up pieces of my wife's Sebring every week since we got the damn thing. Bits of plastic from mysterious sources, keep falling off).

: The chromed version has a little more weight, a little more substance... yes, that's it, substance. Now that I'm all uppity, I believe I'll put on my smoking jacket and have a glass of port with the wife and the cats - by the fireplace. sniff. :)

: The chrome really does add a classy look to the front of the car. The fins really stand out nicely, even though my car's silver and there isn't a lot of contrast. In the pictures on Greg's site, the chrome is very apparent against the red paint.

: Frankly, I think they would look good on any color. I mean, if they add to the silver where there's not much contrast, they would be quite striking on Estoril Blue or Black or Red or...

: I believe it's the subtleties that count.

: Someone who loves cars will see a refinement - the non-car admiring world - won't. But who cares what those slack-jawed yocals think anyway?

: All-in-all, I'm very happy I decided to go with the chrome grill.

: Thanks for taking the initiative Greg - Let me know when you decide to chrome something else...
