I would like to point out that they didn't compare the 15W50 Synthetic to the 10W40 Synthetic. The 20W50 they mentioned was standard petroleum. There shouldn't be much difference between 15W50 and 10W40 Synthetic. I would recommend the higher weight oils for people doing AutoX and Track runs as it seems to reduce lifter float. I didn't hear any tapping with the Mobile 1 15W50 at my last AutoX.
