I also bought the BMW kit and did my top just before the Reunion.
If you remember the weather Thursday -- met Earl in Charlotte -- I had a real test of the waterproofing. It works great!
I also got a chance to evaluate it observing the dew that collected overnight on the toip n the hotel parking lot. Waterproofing works by crating a hydrophobic (water hating) surface. The effectiveness can be judged by the angle water drops make with the treated surface -- the greater the better. I observed that the water sat in large drops, with a near 90 degree contact angle -- just perfect. The only downside is that when you get in the car it dips down on your side and the water drains off the roof -- in a rather unfortunate spot on one's pant leg.
I learned a trick re drying per BMW's instructions. I did my top in the morning with a low sun angle. On e side dried pretty good but the shady side concerned me. I ended up turning the car around so that bothe sides dried evenly.
Hope you didn't mix up the whole batch. I used two ounces of concentrate and ended up with enough to do about three cars.
I should have the results of a really extreme test, as the car has been outside for a month, thanks to mom's accident and the deer.
