Clean either of two ways....
1) if dry and dusty, not real dirty, vacuum with the soft 3" diameter bristle brush.
2) if dirty and repeatly been wet in rain, then wash gently with soap, soft brush, and much water.
Then. waterproof with "Starbrite", a canvas waterproofing liquid available at all boat/marine supply stores for about $20-25 per gallon, enough for 2-3 years. Spray-on (mask around) or sop on dry canvas with sponge and let dry. There is no visual effects, but water then beads up. Re do when water no longer beads. Will last 4 to 12 months depending on how much the car is in hard rain.
