Also want to point out that that there are cheaper ways besides the Remus. The Remus exhaust is a cat back exhaust (fancy way of saying it bolts on to the catalitic converter and replaces everything behind it). Once you find a way to get under your car (recommend a lift) it really is just two bolts and three rubber-hanger-like devices connecting the exhaust to the catalitic converter.
The nice part about the Remus or other "cat-back" exhausts is that at any time you can go back to stock exhaust by simply bolting it back on. I point this out because several on this board have decided to "alter" the stock exhaust by cutting out the stock muffler and welding in Borla mufflers. This method saves money and the end result is just as good if not better (performance wise) than the Remus exhaust, however there really isn't any going back (but I don't know ANY Remus exhaust owners that have gone back to stock).
The Remus exhaust is louder than the stock exhaust, but not as loud as a Borla or Supersprint exhaust. Doug and Eileen have a Borla exhaust on their 1.9 and it sounds really good, much throatier than the stock exhaust. I've only heard one 1.9 with a Supersprint exhaust and honestly it sounded like an old man farting at low RPM but pretty good at the higher RPM.
On the 2.8 I've heard Borla and Supersprint and they both sounded really good. I know Remus makes an exhaust for the 2.8 and M roadster but I have not heard either of them.
