: : NJ BMWCCA autocross at Fort Dix, THIS Sunday October 4th, not ONE person from the board (besides me) has responded to say they'll be coming to show off their Z3 stuff?? tsk tsk.... no wonder the CCA chapter pays little attention to us Z3's...

: Sorry that I'm slow on the pick - up on this, but some local events, for example with the Delaware Valley BMW CCA Pocono series, mandate roll bars - roll bars other than the stock "roll-over protectors". Is it my understanding that the rules for Autocross are, shall we say, less restrictive? The only autocross I ever did was at The Reunion the other month and I thought is was a lot of fun without getting super serious (I can imagine plenty of drivers DO take it v. seriously). Anyway, would someone bring me up-to-date on this type of competition? What are the costs? If my wife and I show up, can we both drive the same car? Thanks.

If you want to have 2 drivers using one car, no problems at all. You will fill out 2 applications and pay 2 entrance fees. No sure what the latest fees are, but they should be about $20.00 - $25.00 per entrant, with BMWCCA members paying $5.00 less than non-members.

It is not unusual for a 2-driver car to enter an Auto-X. Did one last month with one of my sons, both driving my '97 911.

It's alot of fun. Go for it.
The 'original' Robert
