Evidently each produces about the same results.

However, the cold air intake doesn't affect the warranty. I have the cold air intake and it has improved performance and the exhaust is louder.

My Z3 2.8 has not had its chip upgraded and therefore they could not program the chip. Talking with a BMW tech he said BMW is working on additional upgrades for the chip and if I had the diana chip programed the BMW upgrades could not be programed. Also, the are questions about the warranty if hte chip is programed because it voids some of the BMW horsepower limits.

If I were you,I'd go for the cold air intake.

: I have just $400.00 to spend on my 97 2.8Z and would like to know which way to go...would you buy the chip or go for the cold air system if you could only get one...Mahalo
