Haven't seen anything recently, but remember the HP rating in 400+ range on Z07. Saw/heard nada about skd pad tests, but I do know the Viper GTS and Ferrari F355 F1 are tied at .98g...
Viper has slight edge in slalom 63.6/62.6mph (R&T 7/98).
Hey if the M5 proves to be a winner that's great. But as I recall, the M5 will not cost $125K to drive away from the dealer.
Now the car that intrigues me much more than the Z07 is the proposed "Ultra Light" super car available c.2002.
This car will use either a modified version of the 5.4-V12 240mph McLaren F1, or the 400hp-V8 from, yes, the Z07! the car's target weight is 2200lb... mid-engined (Acura NSX), direct ignition, VANOS-adjusted camshafts, with the possibility of pneumatically operated valves (no camshafts!) under consideration. Cost $150k.
So, yeah, that's 25k more than the Z07, but the car is a real super-car... Check out MT 8/98 for the details.
BTW, Mercedes also plans a super-car of their own... cost? $250k!!! Hope its better than the Diablo for tthat kinda large...
