How long can you keep the top down w/out damage? (archive)

Hey Guys,
Since I live in the high desert, I plan to keep the top down (and tonneau on) for extended periods. The longest I will ever have the top down will probably be 2 weeks straight but typically will have it down for the entire weekend (putting it up during the week when the car is garaged as I travel for a living). Will doing this do any permanent damage to the rear window or top? The manual does not address this... Any opinions?
