For someone like myself...whose been a board participant for a couple of years...the latest string of useless, profane, and just plain stupid messages has been more than a little discouraging. Not that this is anything new, in fact we've gone through several cycles of this before. This is a public forum, and like any open group anyone is free to say whatever they want. Having that freedon doesn't mean you shouldn't exercise some modicum of self restraint. Posting things that are likely to offend the men, women, and CHILDREN that read these posts is simply rude and in bad taste. The anonymity of the Internet may remove inhibitions, but someone who acts like a jerk here is likely to be a jerk in "real life" too. If one cannot deal with something as innocuous as a car message board without being able to behave in a civil, socially acceptable manner, then maybe one shouldn't participate. There must be other places to hang out where insults and profanity are more welcome. I'll repeat something I've posted many times before...DO NOT RESPOND TO "BAIT" ! Those few posters who actually get off on making people upset will not persist if they do not receive replies. This is an absolute, well known fact. If you feel you absolutely must reply, tell them your reply will be posted on the "flame board" ...just keep it off the message board. Remember, owning a Z3 does not automatically make the person on the other end a "nice guy"...or even sane, for that matter. As far as criticism regarding our webmaster...Alan hosts this board and is ultimately responsible for its operation. I think he's done a great job and has shown remarkable restaint in letting some threads go as far as they have. If anyone thinks this is a violation of free speech, then simply go start your own board...that's free speech. Now I've said my piece...I feel a lot better.
