Because of the gentle prompting of some of the board's readers, and because we just had a nice Saturday up here in the Pacific Northwest, I broke down and attempted to do some 0-60 timings of my ///MZ3 (supercharged). This was done by pulling off I90 to the paved shoulder, and waiting for a gap in traffic (you need a gap, since you have to make sure the car is below 60mph before the end of the 1/4 mile else the device thinks you are trying to measure 1/4 mile time).

I found it extremely difficult to launch the car without breaking traction (I failed all five attempts). I know I need to get bigger rims/tires, but for now it just seems plain wasteful converting all the rubber into stinky smoke, not to mention that its not helping my timings at all. They ranged from 5.07 to 5.20, with an average of 5.12.

So my question is, can anyone recommend a better launch technique?

Thanks - Paul.
