I'm surprised that you are using first gear. Try
launching in second, or even third. Though I'm
not prone to abuse my 2.8L, there have been times when I thought it necessary to make a statement; purely defensive to Z-3 honor.
My technique: ASC off. Second gear. Rev to 2,500. Slip clutch for just a few feet. Floor gas
pedal. Shift at 5,500/5,800. Shut it down at
100/110mph. It takes a little practice, but the
Z-3 torque curve works well for this method.
An M Roadster with a supercharger probably
would do best with a third gear start. You may want to consult your tuner for assurance that
the drivetrain is up to the extra stress.
