Because he is extremely fair. You guys have your little click, and when one of you gets pissed at someone, everyone joins in without thinking or really reading what the offender has posted.
Obviously, I feel this happened to me. If anyone bothers to read what i had posted (BEFORE David Salley's attack), they would see that I wasn't attempting to offend anyone. People went out of their way to be offended, and then everyone chimed in.
Well my point is that even though Alan is undoubtedly friends with all of you, he was very fair, cordial, and welcomeing to me. He did not make me feel like an outsider, as others did. Otherwise, if there are to be others let me suggest this. It should be a duty assignment for a given period of time, handed on after a while to someone new. And it must be respected and only used when absolutely necessary in my opinion. Not because we have the right to free speach here, but because it makes for a better discussion group. -Anthony : IMHO-I was glad there were other people around to pull stuff. When Alan does it all himself he takes all the heat. Sometimes people get personal about their post being pulled (no, really?) so when it's only Alan, that narrows the mud being slung on the board- which is good. : I thought he did that on purpose so there wouldn't be a huge (hugER) WOB about it. : Maybe he needs help sometimes but not others. Maybe its good to sometimes have it be just Alan.
This emphasizes his fair mindedness in my eyes (Alan's gotta be getting sick of all these pats on the back from everybody
