Cleaning exhaust on M roadster (archive)

So, I was cleaning my car today and stumbled across some yuck - my exhaust pipes. (I have an M roadster).
Yick. Lots of crap and ick on these bad boys. Check out the black stuff in the tubes (there was a little water in the pipes still when I took this picture).

Is anyone else anal enough to want to clean out the insides of their exhaust pipes?

So, anyway, I thought I'd clean 'em out a little bit. Even after some cleaning, they still didn't seem particularily bright, so I used some polishing compound on the left of the two (in the shot below, the left tube I used "P21S MULTI-SURFACE FINISH RESTORER POLISH") - on the right one, I just used glass cleaner and some Maguires quick detailer (I had those two things handy ).

Notice the nice "shine" in the left one.

Is anyone else this anal about this and want the inside of their exhaust pipes clean too? The more times I wash this thing, the more places I find to clean. Hehehe.

Pete
