: The HK subwoofers (there are two) are not too bad considering what they had to work with. The problem is not with the subs but with the factory amp (which is grossly under-powered). I'm running a ADS P840 amp and 2 of it's 8 channels are feeding 40 watts RMS to each of the subs. The quality and quantity of the bass is far better than it was with the factory amp. It is not a "booming" system by any stretch but I would consider it to be adequate (in other words, most people would be very happy with it). I would suggest picking up the factory sub (if reasonably priced) and replacing the factory POS amp with a more suitable aftermarket replacement.
