Try and find out when the cop is scheduled to be on duty. Many times, if the cop doesn't show up for the case, it has to be dismissed. Most of the time, cops don't show up for petty speeding tickets.
In IL, you can get Court Supervision. If you don't get a ticket for so many months, the ticket is dismissed. But, if you get a ticket, you can get up to $1,000 in fines.
If the cop doesn't show up, then the ticket will be dismissed. You could always say that the cop clocked the person next to you, or if you don't have a conscience, have your passenger state that you were going exactlythe speed limit.
You could always call in a bomb threat, then there would be no chance the cop could make it to the trial :)
