There is a BMW part number for the switch. I can get it if you need it. BMW wants the permission letter from NHTSA before they will release the part. I think this is for legal reasons.

When I ordered the car, the salesman assured me that it wouldn't be a problem. Once it was delivered the owner of the dealer said he wasn't sure he would allow his service department to install it. Obviously, BMW requires a BMW certified installer.

I threatened to make this an issue with the BMW followup customer satisfaction call so the dealer decided to install it. It will be the first they have ever installed. I'm currently waiting for my permission slip.

: Has anybody tried to get a cut-off switch for their passenger side airbag? Please advise.
