Had a run-in with a semi-tire at 70 mph on the interstate after dark and damaged a contraption that looks like a charcoal canister or some type of canister related to the fuel tank closed vent system. It is mounted underneath my Z3 coupe just in front of the left rear suspension trailing arm. Apparently when the tire went underneath the car it broke a plastic fitting off this black plastic canister, causing the check engine light to come on. There's no way to repair it, so I need to know what it is so I can order from a low cost OEM part source. The tire also cracked the front air dam and tore off the plastic aero covers behind it, broke the radiator opening grill, cracked a foglight lense, and broke the AC condensor electric fan housing so I have to replace all these parts too. Bummer.
