We just finished fighting a 2 1/2 month losing battle over corporate rebate. Battle was NOT with BMW...but rather with Rockwell International...my wife's employer. Rockwell is not on the corporate list. After the car purchase, we found out about the rebate program, and immediately contacted BMW. Got all information, forms, etc to present to Rockwell, to become included on the list. Rockwell hemmed and hawwed...and did a remarkable Dilbert impression. Corporate said it was an ethics violation to take a rebate. Ethics said no problem, if corporate approves program, as it has several others. Kicked up and down the chain of command at Rockwell, no one willing to sign off on having the company name associated with the BMW rebate program.
Very nice lady at BMW corporate tried everything possible to get Rockwell's cooperation, to no avail. Then the deadline passed...end of story. Without the ok from Rockwell, no rebate...and no one at the top at Rockwell had the cajones to just say yes...so $500 went out the window. Well..it wasn't an incentive to buy the car because we didn't even know about it till after the fact...my salesman still doesn't! Would have been nice, though.
(Can provide specifics through E-mail if anyone is interested.)
