There is a clutch idle bearing thing? which wears when you push the clutch in. Usually the wear on this part is slower then the clutch so if you replace it when you replace the clutch it shouldn't be a problem. There is a safty reason to but it in neutral if some one was to hit you from behind while at a stop light then you would do les damage to your transmission and you could prevent your engine from stalling if the impact made you take your foot off the clutch.

: At a red light is it best to leave the car in gear, or put it in neutral? Also, better to leave car in gear when parked or in neutral? I'd like your opinions. Thanks
