I've had a regular soap opera with various Chicago dealerships on this purchase. After I have my keys in hand and various deposits appropriately refunded and various lawyers contingency checks cut, I'll do my part for the board and spill the beans on which dealers I'd recommend and which should be imprisoned.
Until then, anybody looking to buy a BMW in Chicago is welcomed to e-mail me privately for dealer recommendations.
I told my most recent (and most respected) dealership today about the situation, and the sales manager and general manager are seeing what they can do for me (on top of an already great discount)...and getting back to me this afternoon.
Thanks for your feedback!
: Scott: I am glad you feel the way you do about your dealer. However, being the eternal cynic that I am, I would ask that you let us know if anything changes after you check with your dealer about the price increases.
: BTW, I think you hit the nail right squarely on the head with respect to your other remarks.
