I've had no problems (I wrote the article about a year ago). The spacers don't really seem to be necessary. I did the passenger side recently and didn't bother with anything other than the couplers (I had made some supports for the driver's side which seem totally superfluous now). At the same time I installed longer couplers on the driver's side (I used 24 mm's originally, but cut about 3 mm's off of them). The added angle feels better.

It's easy, should take about 15 min's per side and is completely reversible. Keep your old parts in case you ever have problems withe the seat and have to bring it back to your dealer.
