Alan is correct, they are pretty tough to get out. I pryed out the inner plug and it took a medium size srew drive to get between it and the outer plug in order to pop it out. once you unlatch the shrouds, pull out on them from the top. they set in at the bottom and swing in towards the top of the handles.
Sure wish I could find someone to put in my chrome handels, for a decent price!

: I saw Alan's post on the M3 net about the door surrounds so I got some. I have tried like he__ to get the plug out of the door. I tried prying. I tried prying wth 2 screwdrivers. I tried grabbing it with pliers and pulling as hard as I could. No budgie.

: Apparently these are glued in someway. What is my option - drill them out and then replace with new?
