: Two questions:

: 1) If a cop has his laser/radar turned off and sees you coming, then shoots either one at you, is there any hope of slowing down after my laser/rader detector pick it up? In other words is there any lag time between when the cop shoots the gun and sees how fast I'm going and when my detector picks it up? (I have a whistler)

One of the "posters" says that if you have F1 reactions you can beat the gun.
Well I dont know what brand or type of radar unit this is based on. Using a Vindicator instant on K band type the speed has registered before I can release the trigger, (pull to activate) so even if you manage to react, the speed has been locked.

: 2) I want to step up to the V1. How much is it and where is the best place to buy it? I've never seen one in any of the stores I've been to.

Ive been on both sides of the radar gun.. I highly reccomend a decent radar detector. The V1 gets good praise however I do not own one.
Most of the people I have encountered in high performance cars are better drivers than the rest of the world. Now if you decide to show off and pull away from the crowd, you put yourself in the front of the pack and stand a good chance of getting stopped.
On the flip side, it becomes obvious when someone has a detector as they usually hit the brakes so hard the front nearly hits the ground!
Most traffic cops working residential areas look for the easy targets. ie: lead car all by itself, greater than 15 over the posted speed.

: Thanks!!!
