Here are the attendees so far for the Coal Country Cruise on April 24th (rain date the 25th):

Tom and Rose Mosteller
Dick and Pat Leinbach
Dave and Joanne Francis
Rachel (like Cher, no last name!)
Walter O'Brian
Susan and Bob Highfield
Lyn and Mark Volk
Howhi (lost name please fill me in)
Matthew and Barabara Daub
Craig Cannon and Jack Meier
John and Darlene Moran
Lita and Ron (need last name)
Cathy and Brian McQuain

Here is a rough route. Dick and Pat Leinbach and Lesley and I will be running the route on the 10th to finalize everything.
Starting at the Crackerbarrel restaurant at Routes 78 and 61 immediately north of Hamburg PA. We will meet at 9:30 am.

Then north n Rte. 61 to 443N to 309N going through Tamaqua and up through Hazleton. We then take Rte. 940 to Eklee where the Miner's Village is located. (BTW, there is no actual mine tour, just a recreation of mining life in a mining viallge.) We should spend about an hour or so there to take in the sites and socialize a bit. The cost to enter is $3.50. After the Miner's Village we will get back on 940 and head to the Mosteller's place at Split Rock. Bring a picnic lunch. Tom and Rose will supply soft drinks. After getting to know everyone better over lunch we will proceed south on Rte 903 to Jim Thorpe then take 209 to 443 to 895 and back to Rte. 61. At that point, we will be about 3 miles from the Deer Lake Inn (near Muhammed Ali's old training facility) and this might be a choice for those who would like to do dinner. Let me know if anyone is interested.

61 south will bring you back to 78 and everyone can disperse home. Information about lodging can be at at the reading Tourist Bureau's site at

Looking forward to seeing all of you there. This is my first attempt at organizing a tour so any suggestions from vets will be appreciated. Dick Leinbach and tom Mosteller have been very helpful so far.
