: I am about to purchase the software programing for my 1998 M_Roadster. Dinan is requemending there performance sortware with a cold air package and say I should see about a 15 - 20 HP increase. Bavarian said that there chip software will give a 40 HP bost all by it's self. Is there any one out there that has had experiance with ether or both? The cost is about $1000 for Dianan for software and cold air. Bavarian is about $500 for the software.
How do you know if changing the chip will not void the warranty? Also what happens when you have
a problem with the engine and the computer needs to be adjusted or reprogrammed. I just had BMW look into a rough idle on my M roadster and they performed a bmw service update reprogram. What happens when you have a different programing altogether. I am really tempted to have this new chip but am a little leary. Anyone ever had a different chip put in a car and have any stories to share????
