Unless you turn it on, cruise control makes NO DIFFERENCE in how the car works. Cruise control is SOLELY for those couple days a year (at least for me) when I'm going to be doing rural interstates for hours on end. In case you've never done this, your right foot will get very stiff by the end of the day without cruise.

An automatic tranny is ALWAYS in the way.
