Cover for HMS RollBar cover (archive)

I installed the HMS Sportbar a few days ago and love it. One problem though is I'm 6'5" so I can hit my head on it easily if I want to.

HMS recommends using the SCCA padding that they sell with the bar for tall drivers. So I bought some... only problem is when you pad the entire main hoop of the bar you can't raise or lower the top. It hits on the sides and just padding the top of the bar looks stupid.

Soooo.... recalling that I had a nice roll bar cover on the bar in my Fiat Spider 2000 I tracked down the company I bought it from and got one to try on the HMS. It arrived tonight and fits pretty well. It's black vinyl with padding inside, two snaps at both ends and the rest of the cover attaches to itself with velcro. The length is about perfect at 63" as is the width. The only place it doesn't quite work is around where the two side bars come off the main hoop. I'm going to get a couple of black velcro straps to hold it better there.

If anyone else with a HMS bar wants one call International Auto Parts at 800-726-0555 and order part number 55519 for $55.50.

Have fun,

Shawn
