I wired my V1 with the power cord going up from the footwell, inside the left A-pillar, down the plastic crossbeam (the one with the dome light in it), to a hole in the crossbeam facing forward just above the mirror. Then it leads to the V1. The crossbeam (T-beam?) is actually quite easy to remove. I took it off several times last year when I was trying to mount the V1 into the dome light housing to no avail :-(

Your mod looks amazing and I defintely need one, seeing as I drive both DC and VA everyday (detectors are illegal here). I am worried about the VG-2 detectability, however, without the housing acting as shielding.
