: no. the Euro 1.8 is now a 1.9 but the code for the 1.8 was M43 I believe and doubt the change made it be an M44 since trhe new 1.9 is still an 8 vavle engine. I would guess the code for this engine is M43TU. The M44 was replaced by a 2.0L 6 cylinder (maybe coded M52TU like the new engines?)
