: I have 2700 miles on my Z3 Coupe. Yesterday, the engine light and ecl light came on, and the car started to stutter. I needed a tow.
: I think this is disgraceful for a 3 month-old car. My 12 year old Mercedes 300E with 194,000 miles has never let me down.
: I think there appears to be a lack of attention to detail at BMW. For example, my speedometer is at least 10% off, it reads high. BMW's answer, we're allowed a 10% error plus 2.5 miles/hr. Hardly an appropriate response from a manufacturer of a $40,000 car. Also, the glass sunroof has no interior sunshade, a nuisance in the Summer.
: I intend to take up these matters today, but would like to share my concerns and dissatisfaction.

Had 7 BMW's over past six years, done over 250K miles and never been let down. Know people with E-class and S-class mercs and been let down, one S-class on same day she bought the car.

Both manufacturers produce good quality cars and have the lowest number of failures in industry - yours is just a matter of luck of the draw.

Not good for you, and I would not want it to happen to me but also not total reflection on Maunfacturer.

As for sunshade for sunroof - if you are over 5'8" then you should be thankfull that they left it out!!

And for speedometer, think positive, your unlikely to be done for speeding now are you!!
